ex) Officials warn this decision is going to hurt some of the world’s most vulnerable people.
・Black Sea Grain Initiative：黒海穀物イニシアティブ（農産物輸出合意）
※ロシア軍のウクライナ南部黒海封鎖によるウクライナ産農産物の輸出停滞から、世界的な食料価格の高騰を懸念しウクライナ・ロシアと仲介役の国連・トルコよって締結された合意。
ex) The Black Sea Grain Initiative allowed Ukrainians to safely export grain and fertilizer through Black Sea ports amid the ongoing war.

【 豆知識：並んだ２単語のアクセント位置ルールの例外 】
以前の豆知識「2つの語が並ぶときアクセントの位置で意味が違う」に関し、例外がある。
Black Sea「黒海」に対し、black sea「黒い海」もやはり後ろの単語にアクセントがある。
※しかしこれはあくまで例外であり、通例は、２つの単語が並んでいるときに最初の単語にアクセントを置くと「固有名詞や特定のもの」を指し、一方で後ろの単語にアクセントを置くと「一般的な意味」になる（↑の豆知識参照）

・vote to ～：～することを投票で決める
※to以下の事項が決定されたというニュアンスを含む。決まるかどうかが分からない段階では、vote on whether ～「～かどうかについて投票する」
・go on a strike：ストライキを決行する
・break down：（話し合いなどが）決裂する、失敗に終わる
ex) Hollywood’s actors’ union has voted to go on their first strike in 43 years, after contract negotiations with studios and streaming services broke down.
・picket：ピケット、ピケ（労働争議でストライキをする際に、工場や事業所などの就労場所で座り込みなどを行ってスト破りを見張る行為や、その見張り人）
・picket line：ピケットライン、ピケライン（スト破り防止のための監視線や、妨害者を阻止するための（人垣で作られた）隊形）
・(be) on the picket line：（比喩的に）抗議行動を行っている、ストライキを行っている
ex) Actors are joining screenwriters who’ve been on the picket line since May.
・stand tall：堂々とした態度を取る、断固たる態度を示す
※背筋をまっすぐに伸ばして大きく立つことから。= walk tall
ex) “The entire business model has been changed by streaming, digital, AI. If we don’t stand tall right now, we are all going to be in trouble.“
・jeopardy：危険、（法律用語）有罪になる危険性 [dʒépərdi]
※e.g. double jeopardy：同じ罪で２度裁判にかけられること
・(be) in jeopardyは「危険にさらされて（いる）」と
ex) “We are all going to be in jeopardy of being replaced by machines.”
・residual：残ったもの、余剰、残余、ここでは複数形residualsで映画やテレビ番組を再放送する際に俳優や作者などに支払われる再使用料 [rizídʒuəl]
ex) Both actors’ and screenwriters’ unions are demanding increases in base pay and residuals in the streaming era.

tallは「足元から頭のてっぺんまでの状態」というイメージ

・足元から頭頂部まで態度が揺るぎないもの → 「断固たる態度」

形容詞 + en（「～の状態にする（なる）」となる単語は数多くある。

・soften：和らぐ、柔らかくする
・tighten：引き締める、引き締まる

【 豆知識：緑色の表現は英語と日本語で言葉が違う 】
緑色は、英語では「green」、日本語では「青」という事が多いように、文化や言語によって色に関する表現が違うことがある。
