【 豆知識：単語の最後の “tory" の発音は英米で異なる 】
「signatory」のような単語の最後の “tory" の発音は、アメリカ英語とイギリス英語で異なることが多い。

［トーリー］のように比較的はっきりと、つづり（スペリング）に忠実に発音することが多い。
イギリス英語
［チュリ］のように‘o’という母音を発音せずに、コンパクトに縮まるよう発音される。

【 豆知識：美容院の表現 】
beauty salon、beauty parlor、 beauty shop
中でも、髪を専門に扱うところならhair salon、爪を専門に扱うところなら nail salonのように呼ぶことがある。
【 豆知識："Taliban" の由来 】
the Taliban「タリバン」は、イスラム教の神学校で学んでいた学生が中心となって結成された組織。
（イスラムの）神学生を意味するtalib「タリブ」の複数形がtaliban「タリバン」。
なお、英訳するとthe studentsとなることから、the Taliban have …のようにtheを付けて複数形。
【 豆知識： 】
単語の中の “dict" は「言う」という意味のパーツ
