2022年2月のNHK語学講座
今月の英会話タイムトライアルの旅はLouisiana州
今月はLouisiana州。ニューオーリンズのある南部の州。
今回はなんとなく知っている場所。
最初はまず、中期滞在するらしい。
海外の人ならバケーションでやりそうなことだけど、普通の日本人は１ヶ月現地で部屋を借りるなんて出来ないかと・・・。

“I take a walk with my dog at night, so I’d like a condo that’s in the safe area."
↑慣れなかった"walk a dog" をやっと覚えたのに、今回はこっちの言い方だった。
<部屋の条件>

※"room" は一つのBed Roomに関して訊いているイメージ。玄関含む物件全体なら “condo"

“Most people in Japan prefer condos that face south."
“Does this condo/room have plenty of sunshine?"

“Is there a streetcar stop within walking distance“ ※路面電車：streetcar
次はレストラン。
スティーブ先生の「腹ペコです」がなんとも懐かしい響き！
「今夜ライドシェアを使います」という文が出てきて、「"ride share" は前に出てきましたね」とスティーブ先生に言われたが、そうでしたっけ？状態だった。

今月はスティーブ先生の楽しい小芝居がなく、代わりにジェニーさんの突然の 奇声 ペリカンの鳴き声が聴けた。
