→ もちろんダメに決まってるでしょ
・In your opinion, are GPAs and admissions essays a good way for colleges to choose students?
→ 100%とは言わないけど・・・特にエッセイは他人に書かせられるし。でも一発勝負のテストよりいいのでは。
・Do you think that college admissions applications should be free?
→ 理想だけど、掛かるコストはやっぱり受験者も負担すべき
・How do you feel about three-hour tests (ex. too long, sometimes necessary)?
→ ちょっと長いかな。TOEICの2時間でも限界な自分としては。

→ 本当は記述式がいいんだろうけど、仕方ない。日本の大学入試も同じ。

→ 絶対持ち込み負荷の時代の人間としては心から驚くけど、最近は計算機をいかに上手く使うかが大事らしいので、時代の流れに沿っていると思った

「思い出したくない辛い過去のことを表すのに、日本では『黒歴史』という言葉が流行っている」という話をした際、「黒歴史」は一応「英語で言うなら、」と前置きした上で “black history" と表現したが、先生からその言葉はアメリカでは黒人差別に当たると教えてもらった。気を付けないと。
【自分で頑張って言えた、つもりがちょっと惜しかった表現】
銀の匙（ 裕福な家に生まれる ）の慣用句
“be born with a silver spoon in one’s mouth"
“spoon" までは思い出してなんとか言えたが、その後ろが抜けた。惜しい！
レッスンの感想
今日初めて受けたR先生は、最初からとてもニコニコして明るく感じのいい先生だった。
色々指摘・修正してくれて、ちゃんと聞いていてくれてるんだなーと思った。
今日はふと思い出した銀の匙の慣用句もどうにかこうにか使ったりして、話しやすい内容だっただけに楽しかった。
SATはよく洋画や海外ドラマで見かける。今すぐ思い出すのは「ゴシップガール」。
SATもだけど、高校時代から相当根回しをしないと希望大学に進学するのが大変らしい、というのがドラマを観ていると良く分かる。「ギルモア・ガールズ」でも出てきた。
