今回作ったレシピ

Memory 'Mallows：思い出マシュマロ

ついに、シーズン２前半の最終話！
ChuckとRoseが兄と妹だ、というくらいはまぁ既に分かっちゃっていたけれど、Chuckの行動の理由は思いつかなかったので、今回の話で全容が明らかになったので色々「へ～」だった。
おおよそのセリフはかなり聴きとれたけれど、その肝心のChuckの魂胆部分については、皆のセリフが早口なので残念ながらよく理解できなかった。
後で英語字幕解読でやっとどういうことだったのか分かった。

これまでのChuckの謎が全て解け、ハッピーエンドとなって良かった良かった。
妹はビクトリアン風なのに兄はやたらと現代っ子っぽいとか、本人の記憶を見ているのになぜか第3者からの視点とか、最後の山場でなぜかママPが全く出てこないとか（撮影スケジュールが合わなかった？）、いくつか気になる点はあったのも、これまた楽しむ要素だった。
マシュマロ作りなんて初めて見たし。

英語に関してもいくつか。
まず、本の中のRoseのことを話すときによく出てきた “drawing"。
日本語的に「ドローイング」だと思っていたので、ここ数話で何度も出てきたこの単語が、聴いてもそれだと分からなかった。
皆は「ドラウイング」という感じで発音していた。

次に、Roseが兄に “Maybe the magic isn’t ours to keep." というセリフ。
直訳だと「魔法は私たちのものであるべきではないかもしれない」、amazonの日本語訳では「魔法はもうやめよう」。
「be ～ to keep」の用法がピンとこなくて、chatGPTに解説してもらったり例文を作ってもらったりした。
でも今でもどうも分かりづらい。

最後に、魔法で弱っているHannahがChuckに恨みがましく言う “You’re never gonna get away with this."
“get away with"（（悪いことをしたのに）逃げ切る、ただで済む）を見て、「おっ！」と思った。
大好きなドラマ “How to Get Away with Murder" （殺人を無罪にする方法）じゃないですか！
まさに、どうやって殺人から上手く逃げ切るかが面白いドラマだった。
