※onからsideは一気に言う。mother’sでも良いが短く言う方が一般的。

兄弟姉妹の上下の表現
“I have two older sisters."
※older/youngerが定番でお勧め。親しみを込めてbig sister/little sisterもある。elderはフォーマルであまり使わない。

〇歳離れている、〇歳年上/年下
“How many years apart are you?“「あなた方は何歳離れていますか？」
“We are two years apart.“「私たちは２歳離れています」
↑ ＝ “I’m two years older than my younger brother.“でも良い。

兄弟姉妹をまとめて言う
“My sisters live in Higashi-machi."「姉と妹は東町に住んでいます」
※My older sister and my younger sister　・・・"でも良いが、上記のようにまとめて言って話の先でどちらが姉か妹か判明させれば良いのでどちらでも良い。

“My brothers like surfing."
※上記と同じ


兄弟姉妹の有無
“Do you have any brothers or sisters?“
※siblingsでも良いがこっちはどちらかというと書き言葉なので、会話では上記で。

“I have an only child."「一人っ子です」
※= “I don’t have any brothers or sisters.“でも良い。

“We’re a family of five.“「5人家族です」
