NHK英会話タイムトライアル2022年度7月
今月のテーマは「文化・芸術」
クリスティーアンさんの地？がだんだん出てきて、面白みが増してきたイギリス旅行も今月までらしい。
当初は、毎月別の国になるのかと思っていたので、４ヶ月も一つの国にいるとは想像していなかった。
この調子だと、１年で３か国・・・だけってこと？
「～で有名」
まずは「～で有名」。
過去の番組で何回か出てきていて、NHKの「ゴガクル」でテストをして復習しているので、これはもう言えます！

「～があります」「～が開催されます」
次の「～がある」「～が開催される」は、散々タイムトライアルで登場して学んできているのに、いまだに「～があります」と聞くと “There is/are …." で始めてしまう・・・。
困ったもんだ。今度こそ習得！

「～しようと思っている、つもり」、好みの表現
次は「～しようと思っている」「～のつもり」で、普通の進行形ではなく “be planning" を使う方がいいとのこと。
もう決めちゃっているなら進行形・・・とっさに使い分けられるかな～。
でも何気に、一緒に練習した好みに関する表現の方が苦手だった。

「～から始まる、～時間後」、他
次は始まる時間の表現。とても大事。
スティーブ先生の言う通り、日本語の「〇〇時から始まる」に釣られて “from 〇〇" と言ってしまう。

「～で作られた」「～を描いた」など
芸術に関連した表現は難しかった！あれっ？という感じで文法から戸惑ってしまった。
もちろん語彙なんて・・・スティーブ先生から問いかけられるたびに苦笑。。。
だって「ミケランジェロ」に「ダビデ」に「ゴッホ」に「ゼウス」！ 正しい英語での言い方もその発音も、さっぱり分かりません！！
この回はホントに難しかった。全体の内容を整理し直してみたけれど、やっぱり難しい・・・。
【先に名称から・・・】
・大理石：marble
・建築的な階段：staircase / 普通の階段：stairs
・大理石像：marble statue
・油絵：(oil) painting
・ミケランジェロ：Michelangelo [mὰɪ･kə･lˈæn･dʒə･lòʊ]
・ダビデ： David [déɪvɪd]
・ゴッホ：Van Gogh [vængóʊ]
・ゼウス：Zeus [zúːs]
【基本の文法】
①「〇〇（素材）で作られている」：～ is made of 〇〇
→「〇〇で作られている？」：Is that made of 〇〇?
→「何で作られている？」：What is that made of?
②「〇〇（人など）が作った像です」：That was made by 〇〇
「〇〇（人など）が描いた油絵です」：That is an oil painting by 〇〇
→「誰が〇〇を作ったのか？」：Who made 〇〇
→「誰が〇〇を描いたのか？」：Who painted? drew? 〇〇 ※番組で例文なし
③「〇〇（人など）をかたどった像です」：That is a statue of 〇〇
「〇〇（人など）を描いた油絵です」：That is an oil painting of 〇〇
→「誰をかたどった像？」：Who is that a statue of?
→「誰を描いた油絵？」：Who is that an oil painting of?
※なぜ “a"/"an" が入るのか分からない・・・【例文】

オペラ・演劇などの列や席
チケットを取る時の「最前列」や「中ほど」は前に番組で勉強したが、綺麗さっぱり忘れていた。
また覚え直し。
