コチラは「軍隊のように学校や教師に従わせている感が見える」
と、ひねくれ系。しかもスムーズに言えてないし。
軍隊：militaryがとっさに思いつかず。従うの"obey“は思い出せた。

今度はチップ制度について意見交換。
セルビアはチップ制だし、先生は大変寛大なので感謝の意を表してチップを置いてあげたいそう。
素晴らしい。
コチラは「なぜ客が店主の代わりに給料の補填をしなければいけないのか。給料を上げるべきだ」
あぁ、私ってなんてひねくれてるんだろう・・・・。
その後、「日本人はなぜお金をあげることに躊躇するのか、どう感じるのか？」と先生に訊かれた。
たぶん他の生徒さんからそういった話を聞いているのだろう。
日本語でも説明が難しく、言いたいことは「あからさまだから」なんだけど、このビミョーな日本人独特のニュアンスって表現できないよ！
先生に助けてもらいながら、「施し"charity"みたいに感じちゃうから」と説明した。
先生は日本に行ったことはなく、コロナが収束したら行ってみたいと言うので、
「レストランでテーブルにチップを置いて出ようとしたら、きっと日本のスタッフは慌てて追いかけて「お金忘れてますよ！」って言われるよ」とアドバイスした。

「目的は優勝すること」と話したが、「優勝」があやふやだった。
優勝（あとで辞書で調べた）：

そもそも「修理工」の単語を知らなかった・・・。
ジェイソン・スティサムの映画のタイトルじゃんね！彼は殺し屋（彼がただの車の修理屋のはずはない）だけど、痕跡を残さず正確な仕事をするから「メカニック」と呼ばれてる。（よし、覚えた。）
repairとfixは同じで、maintainは違うそう。

でも「Monster Parents」は初めて聞いたらしく、ビックリしていた。
どういう親のことをそう呼ぶのか説明した後、「"Monster" を付けて色々言い方があるんだよ、“Monster Students" とか・・・」と言ったら、先生は苦笑いしていた。

宇宙へ行く話はこの１，２年一般的になってきて、英語日記にも度々書いているけれど（例えばコレ）、この設問への回答にはイマイチ活かされなかった。"astronout" は言えたけど。
レッスンの感想
またまた自由トークをたっぷり交えているため、一通りこなすのに３回掛かった教材だった。
最初は初のフィリピン・N先生で、明るくテキパキしていて良かった。
やっぱりスピーキング教材はフィリピンの先生がやりやすいな～、と改めて思った。
でも今の時差だとフィリピンの先生が少ないんだよね・・・。
N先生とQ1～Q4。
次はお気に入りのセルビア・J先生で、いつも大変話を膨らませてくれるので、上記の通りQ5とQ6のみで、Free Conversationとの合体型みたいなレッスンにしてくれた。
そして最後にQ7以降は、お気に入りリストに入れつつ全くレッスンが取れず半年以上も経っていた、コロンビアのM先生が偶然取れた。
あまりに久し振り過ぎて先生に関して何も覚えていなかったけれど、レッスンを受けてみて「あぁ、そうだ、とても良い先生だった」と思った。
色々質問をしてくれたり言葉の提案をしてフォローしてくれたり、と非常に良かった。
今回の３人の先生に一番共通しているのは、終始笑顔なこと。
