【新or使い慣れていない語彙】
・approve of ～：～を認める・継承する
ex) I’m not sure if your parents will approve of that.
・be determined：（形）決心している
ex) You are so determined, aren’t you?
・explore：探検する
ex) I’ve always wanted to explore the world.
・spoil ～：～を台無しにする
ex) I hope you won’t spoil the family dinner.
・convince：納得させる、説得する
ex) I’ll be able to convince them somehow.
・discourage：やる気をそぐ、～を失望させる
ex) Don’t be so discouraged.
ex) I was discouraged at the news.
ex) The bad weather discouraged us from climbing the mountain.
ex) We want to know if you discouraged smoking.
determine / determine 人 to ～：決心する
ex) He has determined to return home at once.
ex) That experience determined her to become a teacher.
out-of-the-ordinary：あり得ないような、非日常的な
ex) It was an out-of-the-ordinary thing.

【 “if" では最後の “or not" は不要か】
“if" には付けず、"whether" のみ。
“or not" は強調のためなので、付けると「かしらね～？」といった感じでイメージを強める。
なので無くても良い。
【 “whether" と “if" の使い分け ①】
“whether" は “if" の堅い表現で、基本的には置き換え可能。
でも言いやすさとして “if" を使う場合がある。例えば “Let me know ・・・" だと、"if" が使いやすい

阻止する、やる気をそぐ

【 雑談から・・・】
・refinement：精製、精練、洗練、上品
ex) I think he lacks in/of refinement. 彼は品性に欠けると思います
・lost：道に迷った; 当惑した; 放心したような
ex) Listning to much of current news make you feel lost.
レッスンの感想
最初に習ったのはお気に入り・日本のM先生で、またおしゃべりに付き合ってもらったので途中までとなり、その後お気に入り・北マケドニアのY先生で、という2段階で勉強した。
M先生はいつも通りしっかりと文法を解説してくれ、さらにメッセージも相変わらず大変素晴らしい内容で感服。
Y先生もいつも通り大変まったりと落ち着いて優しいので、安心して間違いだらけでしゃべった。
どちらの先生も本当に親切なので、レッスンを受けると心から癒される。
Free Conversationの設問は「周囲が何と言おうと何かを決意したか」で、周囲が何と言うと好き勝手に決意しまくりタイプなのでネタには困らなかった。
