【新or使い慣れていない語彙】
・subordinate：部下
・rational：理性的な、道理をわきまえた [rǽʃənəl] ⇔ emotional
ex) Please be more rational and not so emotional.
・ efforts are rewarded：努力(結果)が報われる
ex) His efforts were not well rewarded.
・be angry with ～：～に怒る
ex) He was angry with him for being late.
・be furious with ～：～に激怒する
ex) I was furious with myself for lack of courage.
・fear ～：～を怖がる
ex) I fear failure.
・be frightened of ～：～におびえる
ex) He is frightened of me.
・go well/wrong：うまくいく/いかない
ex) Today went well.
・have good/bad performance：業績が良い/悪い
ex) They will probably have a very good performance.
・expect ・・・from ～： ～に・・・を期待する
ex) I expect a prompt response from you.
・(try to) live up to (someone)’s expectation：(期待に沿えよう)と頑張る
ex) I thought that I have to live up to his expectation.
・be / feel lethargic：無気力だ [ləθɑ́rdʒik]
ex) The hot weather made me feel lethargic.

【 “fear" の使い方】
“fear" を使った文を作るということで、
“Do not fear her."
と言ったら、"of" が必要とのこと。説明してもらうと、
① Do not fear
of
her.
② Do not fear her.
⇒ ①は、「彼女を恐れるな（＝勇気を持て！みたいな）」、②は、「彼女を怖がらせるな（"scare" と同じ使い方）」
だそう。
レッスン時は「なななるほど！！」と大変ナットク状態だったけど、後から辞書例文等を見ながら考え直すと・・・ハテ？という感じ。
“I have no fear of failing." と
“I fear failure."
とがある。
うーん、また分からなくなってしまった。。。
レッスンの感想
以前何回かレッスンを受けてお気に入りに入れているトルコのE先生が待機中だった。
今日はレッスン前に色々疲れているし、トピックトークはいつも上手く話せないから、おっとりした先生がいいなぁと思っていたので、まさにおっとりなE先生にした。
穏やかにレッスンを進めてくれて良かった。"fear of" 問題はまた今度考えることにしよう。
細かいことはいちいち気にしないことにする。
それにしても、トピックトークは覚えるべき語彙やフレーズが大量にあって大変。
全然覚えられない・・・。
