・What are some Japanese holidays?

レッスン中上手く言えなかったので、しゃべった内容をフレーズを利用した上で作ってもらった
・Generally speaking, the biggest holiday in Japan is New Year. It usually lasts from January 1st to 3rd.
・My favorite holiday is Christmas. Generally speaking, Japanese people celebrate Christmas even though most of them aren’t Christian.
・It’s a known fact that many Japanese people eat chicken on Christmas.
・It’s a common misunderstanding, but not all young couples go on romantic dates on Christmas. Some just stay home or spend time with family.
・It’s a common misunderstanding, but Japan actually has no national holiday in June. So if I made a new one, June would be perfect.
・One foreign event I’d love to see is a Christmas market in Germany, because it’s a known fact that those markets are amazing.

・Generally speaking, in Western countries, people call even their seniors by just their first name. I was surprised when I saw a child in a movie call their friend’s mom by her first name.

レッスンの感想
今日のJ先生はキツかった・・・フィリピン訛がなかなか聴き取れず、Challenge1でホテルクラークのセリフをバーッと読み上げてもらっても、「う、何・・・？？」という箇所が多かった。
勉強のためにはフィリピンの人の英語を聴きとるのが大事なのはよく分かるんだけど、学習内容としてリスニングを基に質問に答える形式では、これはつらい。
ま、フィリピン人講師の英会話レッスンではフツーにあるあるだけど。
今回、上記のとおり、レッスンの後に自分がしゃべった内容をざっくりGPTに伝え、改めて文を作ってもらった。
「こういう3つのフレーズの練習なので、それらを入れ込んでね。そのためなら内容を変えてもいいよ」と伝えたところ、さすがサクッと提示してくれた。
今までのオンラインレッスンではこういうのはやってなかったけど、うーん、なんと便利な・・・。
今後はフル活用でしょう。
